What are we talking about?
In this lesson we use comprehensible input Spanish to practice the preterite with mostly regular verbs. The questions help you talk about what you did during your last vacation: travel, eat, study, listen to music, dance, visit family, cook, read, go to the movies, go shopping, spend time with friends, play sports, play video games, wake up late, and go to bed late.

How to respond: model answers and conjugations
Here are first-person examples and the preterite conjugation for the verbs most used in the questions.
- Viajar — yo viajé. Ejemplo: Yo viajé a la playa con mi familia.
- Comer — yo comí. Ejemplo: Comí comida muy buena en un restaurante local.
- Estudiar — yo estudié. Ejemplo: Estudié español cada mañana.
- Escuchar — yo escuché. Ejemplo: Escuché música todo el día.
- Bailar — yo bailé. Ejemplo: Bailé en una fiesta con amigos.
- Visitar — yo visité. Ejemplo: Visité a mis abuelos durante una semana.
- Cocinar — yo cociné. Ejemplo: Cociné platos típicos con mi familia.
- Leer — yo leí. Ejemplo: Leí un libro interesante en la playa.
- Ir al cine — yo fui al cine. Ejemplo: Fui al cine con mis amigos.
- Ir de compras — yo fui de compras. Ejemplo: Fui de compras y compré ropa nueva.
- Pasar tiempo con amigos — yo pasé tiempo con los amigos. Ejemplo: Pasé tiempo con mis amigos todos los días.
- Jugar un deporte — yo jugué al fútbol. Ejemplo: Jugué al fútbol con mis compañeros.
- Jugar videojuegos — yo jugué videojuegos. Ejemplo: Jugué videojuegos por la tarde.
- Despertarse tarde — me desperté tarde. Ejemplo: Me desperté tarde cada mañana.

Practical tips
- Answer first in the first person (I) and then switch to other persons to practice different conjugations.
- Use complete sentences: add where, with whom, and for how long.
- Record your voice and listen for mistakes to improve pronunciation and fluency.
