Dice Games for Spanish Verb Practice
Dice games are an excellent way to bring movement, fun, and repetition into verb practice. The following templates can be used with any set of verbs and work well as partner activities, small-group stations, or independent practice. These activities are ideal for warm-ups, sub plans, or quick reinforcement during class.
Verb and Definition Chart
Students begin by selecting a verb from your list or from a classroom handout. They complete the chart by writing the infinitive, a definition in English, and the conjugations for all six subject pronouns. This reinforces meaning and form before switching to the dice activities.

Combinaciones
- Yo
- Tú
- Él, ella, Ud.
- Nosotros/as
- Vosotros/as
- Ellos, ellas, Uds.

Students can check their answers with a partner, use verb charts, or confirm forms during the game.
Dice Game #2
This second activity provides additional practice with conjugations and pronouns using three dice. It allows students to generate random combinations to work with, keeping each round unpredictable and engaging.
Students begin by listing a verb and its meaning.

Then students review the subject pronouns they may roll during the game:

Él/Ella/Ud.
Nosotros/Nosotras
Vosotros/Vosotras
Ellos/Ellas/Uds.
Dice Setup
Students roll three dice:
• Die 1 selects a verb (if using multiple verbs) or directs which form they must produce.
• Die 2 selects the subject pronoun.
• Die 3 can direct an additional task such as writing a sentence, translating, or saying the form aloud.
This chart can be used for organization:

You can fill the dice outcomes with:
• Pronouns
• Tense options
• Sentence tasks
• Translation tasks
• Commands such as “Write it,” “Say it out loud,” or “Use it in a sentence”
Teachers may also assign each die a different category depending on the objective of the lesson.
How to Play
- Students roll all three dice.
- Based on the dice results, they produce the correct conjugation or perform the assigned task.
- Students check one another’s answers or consult verb charts.
- Play continues for a set number of rounds or until time is called.
Why These Games Work
Dice games offer a blend of structure and unpredictability, which encourages repeated practice without feeling repetitive. They help students internalize conjugation patterns and build confidence using verbs with various pronouns. Because the tasks are easy to differentiate, these games can be adapted for all levels.
