Inside & Outside – Describing Ourselves
Learning to describe ourselves is an important part of communicating in any language. In Spanish, we can use adjectives to talk about who we are on the outside (our physical appearance) and on the inside (our personality, values, likes, and emotions). This activity will help you practice both!
Objective: Use adjectives in Spanish to describe who you are on the outside (physical appearance) and the inside (personality, values, emotions).
Instructions
- Decorate the Outside:
- On the outside of your bag (or the front of your poster), write or draw words that describe your physical appearance.
- Example sentence:
- “Por fuera, soy ___.”
- Write 3–5 adjectives for your outside:
- Describe the Inside:
- On slips of paper (or the back of your poster), write words, phrases, or draw pictures that describe your personality, likes, values, and emotions.
- You can also add photos, short letters, or symbols.
- Example sentence:
- “Por dentro, soy ___.”
- Write 3–5 adjectives for your inside:
- Share with a Partner or Group:
- Present your bag or poster in Spanish.
- Use the sentence starters:
- “Por fuera, soy…”
- “Por dentro, soy…”
