Japanese: Learn through Culture
Learn Japanese through culture with these experiences unique to Japan.
Stay in a ryokan 旅館 Japanese-style inn. They often have tatami mats and futon for sleeping, and offer guests yukata. Many have an onsen (hot spring bath) as well.
Stay in a capsule hotel カプセルホテル Hotel room, just big enough for sleeping. Only men allowed.
Visit Harajuku Street in Tokyo. The best people watching I have ever experienced.
Get a Shiatsu massage. Strong massage done with clothing on. Japan has many walk-in places, so if you are feeling stressed, there is no need to hold onto it.
Visit the Peace Park in Hiroshima. Visit a park and museum dedicated to the victims of the atomic bomb.
Gion Visit the geisha district. See the ladies walking down the street to their places of employment or training.
Kyoto Visit the amazing shrines and temples.
Ride the Shinkansen. There are many high-speed trains, but none that I have experienced with such precision and efficiency.
Akihabara See the latest in technology in this Tokyo district.

My strange podcast.
If you are wondering why there is a download file below, it is a word in Japanese.
We learn languages most effectively in chunks–meaningful words and phrases to communicate right away.
Some years ago, I started sharing these chunks to learn Japanese fast.
I added a feed to share. You can create your own playlists, and start speaking in seconds. Check it out here: https://reallifelanguage.lpages.co/japanese-for-travel-and-beginners-podcast/
